Multi-Factor Authentication - Email

What is multi-factor authentication?

Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) is a way to make your account more secure. When you log in, you use:

  1. Your password
  2. An extra step (like a code)

This extra step can be:

  • A text message (sms)
  • An email code
  • A code from an app

Why is MFA important?

It helps to protect your account, even if someone knows your password.

Email MFA uses your alternate email address. Alternate email address means your personal email address, not your student email address. This email address is saved in the Student Identity System (SIS). Make sure this email address is correct before you begin.
