Setting Microsoft Authenticator (MFA)

enlightenedAlert! If there is not a QR code available, go back to the Technology Assistance page and Open a ticket.

enlightenedTip! You will need two devices to set up your MFA. Please make sure to have your smart phone, computer, tablet, iPad, or another    smart phone.

enlightenedTip! If you have the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone, you may skip step one and click "Next".

 


NOTE: If you reset your phone or purchase a new one, you must submit a request for your MFA to be reset. 

 

Download the FREE Microsoft Authenticator on Your Smart Phone.

In either the Apple App Store or the Google play store search for “Microsoft Authenticator”


 

Setting up Microsoft Authenticator

Step 1: Open the "Microsoft Authenticator" app on your phone.

 


 

Step 2: Press the "+" sign in the top right-hand corner of the app.

Step 3: Select "Work or School Account

Step 4: Select "Scan QR code"

enlightenedUse camera on your phone to scan QR code which will appear once you have logged on to MyMECC,

 


Step 5: On a Computer or Another Device: Login to MyMECC (located on www.MECC.edu) with your MyVCCS Username (Example: abc1234) and correct password.

Step 6: Click "Next" and scan QR code

Step 7: Go to "Microsoft Authenticator" app on your phone.

Find the code that is associated with MyVCCS-New and enter the your 6-digit code without a space.

Step 8: Click "GO"
