Teams Phone: Change from Recorded Greeting to Text-to-Speech Greeting

Purpose

Teams will not play a Text-to-Speech voicemail if a recorded greeting exists. This article shows how to remove the recorded greeting

Assumptions

You are a BRCC Employee with an assigned phone number. 

Steps

  1. In the Teams Desktop App, click the three dots next to the Search bar and select Settings
  2. In the Calls section, scroll down to Manage Voicemail. 
  3. Click Record a Greeting. 
  4. When prompted, select 1 to record a greeting. On the next menu, select 3 to delete the existing greeting. 
  5. Your voicemail will be set to Teams default greeting, or play Text-to-Speech greeting if configured.
