The email system for the System Office and Shared Services Center is hosted in Exchange Online which is part of Microsoft 365. "Exchange Online is a hosted messaging solution that delivers the capabilities of Microsoft Exchange Server as a cloud-based service. It gives users access to email, calendar, contacts, and tasks from PCs, the web, and mobile devices. It integrates fully with Active Directory, enabling administrators to use group policies, as well as other administration tools, to manage Exchange Online features across their environment."

Access email from everywhere. With 100GB mailbox quotas there's little worry about running out of space. Downtime is essentially non-existent. New features are constantly rolling out.

Metrics and Statistics
The SO and SSC email service supports hundreds of users each day sending and receiving 10's of thousands of messages per day. Statistical data can be generated on an ad hoc basis if needed.
