Key Points:
- All Reynolds students -- current and alumni -- have a MyReynolds account, also known as an EAD (Enterprise Active Directory) account. However, they can have other accounts that are not administered through the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) such as through Cengage Learning and McGraw-Hill Connect (the Help Desk is unable to provide account support for these other accounts).
- MyReynolds account passwords have a limited time they are valid before they expire and must be changed -- currently it is set to 180 days (or approximately six months).
- Students are required to keep up with their account username and password information to login to their account as necessary.
- The Reynolds Information Center can reset passwords for students if they are unable to do it themselves. But, they must be able to answer security questions to verify their identity before they can receive a temporary password.
Instructions:
Students generally use their MyReynolds account to access their coursework in Canvas and other enterprise applications such as SIS and Zoom.
- All MyReynolds account usernames for students generally use the one of two syntaxes:
initials of name + two to six numbers
OR
first letter of first name + entire last name + two to six numbers
MyReynolds is set to force users to change their passwords after 180 days, or approximately six months, of usage.
If users are unable to login to their account, they can attempt to reset their password on their own. An instructional guide is attached to this knowledge base article. Otherwise, they can contact the Reynolds Information Center at 804-371-3000 for assistance (when prompted, they will press 5 to speak with an agent).
