Name Change - Students

Key Points:

  • If a student calls or emails the Help Desk requesting a name change, verify that they have submitted a request ticket.
     
  • The student will need to have a copy of their social security card with the new name listed.
     
  • The student will need to also complete Reynolds Form 11-0007 and upload copy of their driver's license or other valid photo ID (it must have their correct name listed on it).
     
  • The name change will not affect the user's current MyReynolds username information to prevent adverse access to enterprise applications such as Canvas and SIS.


Instructions:

  1. After the student calls or emails the Help Desk, direct the user to complete Reynolds Form 11-0007 so that their name can be updated in MyReynolds.  Have the user to upload a copy of a valid photo ID (e.g., driver's license) that has their correct name listed on it and any other documentation that is required.  Within one to two business days, the name should be updated in SIS, which will then update to all other VCCS enterprise applications, including Canvas and Zoom.
     
  2. Make sure that the user submits a Help Desk ticket to document their name change request and then close it.
