Logging in to Zoom

Key Points:

• The VCCS (Virginia Community College System) has an enterprise license for Zoom that is available to any currently employed faculty/staff member and any currently enrolled student among the 23 community colleges.
   
• Reynolds faculty, staff, and students can access Zoom by logging in to their MyReynolds account, or by downloading the app via https://zoom.us/download and then signing in to their account using the single-sign on (SSO) feature.
   
• First-time users must activate their Zoom account by following the instructions in the activation email.  The email is sent to their VCCS Gmail account.

Instructions:

Zoom is the VCCS video conferencing application that allows faculty, staff, and students to participate in virtual conference meetings whenever and wherever they're needed.  To get the best experience with Zoom, you need to have: 

• A relatively fast Internet connection (e.g., Xfinity or Verizon).
   
• A computer, smartphone, or tablet with a built-in webcam, or an external USB web camera.
   
• A microphone*
  
  *Most devices have a built-in microphone.  If your device does not have one, you can use a USB microphone (either standalone or as part of a headset).

There are a few different ways to access your Zoom account.

1. Sign in to your MyReynolds account, then click on the Zoom icon.
    
2. Click the Zoom app on your college machine, then click Sign In.  When the sign-in window appears, click Sign In with SSO.  Another window will appear -- enter VCCS as the domain name (it should appear as vccs.zoom.us), then click Continue.  Sign in with your VCCS username and password to finish the login process.
   
   
   
   
   Note: If you are using a personal mobile device, you can download the Zoom app through your device's application store (Google Play Store for Android devices and the Apple App Store for iPhone/iPad devices). 
   
   Users that have personal computers (e.g., desktops or laptops) can download the Zoom client app from the website https://zoom.us/download.
