As part of Laurel Ridge's commitment to fostering our core value of lifelong learning, the college continues to monetarily recognize classified employees for education and skills attainment.
Employees who attain a new academic degree will see an increase reflected in their annual base salary. This approach reinforces our belief in the enduring value of formal education and mirrors the promotion in rank process for our faculty members. Additionally, a flat dollar amount will be applied to degree-based salary adjustments, ensuring that this recognition remains equitable for all employees, regardless of their current salary level.
Those employees who earn a licensure or certification that is an industry-recognized credential and directly relevant to their role will be provided a one-time bonus. These credentials are vital to maintaining and advancing the professional expertise of our staff and faculty. By providing a one-time bonus, we recognize the value such credentials bring to the organization while maintaining a consistent reward structure across all departments.
The Recognition for Education and Skills Attainment presentation provides details such as eligibility and award amounts. Please note, the program is subject to the availability of funds.
All educational, industry-recognized licensure and certification achievements will continue to be recognized during the May Employee Recognition Luncheon, regardless of whether they are eligible for monetary recognition. Faculty may receive consideration for education and skills attainment through the VCCS Policy 3.07 for Promotions.
