How do I access Canvas?
- Click MyMGCC in the navigation any page of Mountain Gateway’s website or click here.
- Sign in using your MyMGCC username (example: jjd60422) and your MyMGCC password in the appropriate field. (This username was emailed to you after you completed the Application for Admission.)
- Once you are logged into myMGCC, find and click on the Canvas tile to access the Canvas.
Note: If you do not know/have your myMGCC username or password please contact Student Services, at 540-863-2820. For security reasons, Student Services cannot perform password resets via email.

If assignment instructions are unclear, students should contact the professor for clarification.
The IT HelpDesk is unable to reset, delete, or modify any student submissions within the Learning Environment; this includes:
- Assignment Submissions
- Quizzes or Exams
- Discussion Board Posts or Replies
Note: If you need help with your Canvas submission after it has been submitted, it's important to contact your professor directly. Only the instructors for a course have the authority to reset submission attempts. If you encounter any issues or need assistance, please reach out to your professor. They are the only ones within the course who can perform changes or reset the submission attempts.

You can contact Canvas Support by clicking on the “?“ icon, help icon, on the bottom left of global navigation menu. There you will find a link to the Canvas Guides, a link for live chat, and the support phone number.
