This week, let’s take a look at the big players in AI right now (in no particular order): Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, Claude, Chat GPT, and NotebookLM.
To do this, I asked Copilot to make a chart comparing each one. Please note: I am disclosing my use of AI and introducing the possibility of bias in the data. This is very important as we use AI to disclose that information to whoever we are sharing the information with.
Each AI has its benefits and drawbacks. I am a big fan of Google Gemini for general searching and NotebookLM for looking at specific sources. That said, I am currently exploring Microsoft Copilot and its use cases more. In the end, however, the AI you chose has to be a combination of what you are using it for and your personal preference. I recommend trying the different Ais and seeing what you like best.
Just remember the 3 basic rules for AI:
- Disclose its use.
- No PII (Personally Identifiable Information) used, if you can’t find it easily on the web, it doesn’t go into AI, until you hear otherwise from IT.
- Trust, but verify - Double-check your information to make sure it’s correct. Some AIs offer sources. Browse that information or look for yourself to make sure what you are presenting is correct.
