Town Hall Reporting
Teams Town Halls are built for large, one-to-many broadcast-style events. Think all-hands, big announcements, or executive briefings. Typical Town Hall reports include:
Attendee Report
You typically get:
- Attendee name or anonymous identifier
- Join and leave times
- Viewing duration
This helps answer questions such as:
- Overall audience size
- Peak concurrency
- Session drop-off trends
Q&A Report
The Town Hall Q&A report includes:
- Published questions
- Responses from presenters / moderators
- Timestamps
- Moderation details (for example, dismissed or private responses)
This is useful for understanding theme-level interest and concerns, but not for scoring individual attendees or accounts.
Organizer Summary & Recording
Organizers also see:
- A high-level summary that may include audience size and presenter activity
- The Town Hall recording, typically stored in SharePoint/OneDrive, for on-demand access
Recap
Recaps are available after Teams events, including meetings, town halls, webinars, and calls, that were recorded or transcribed. In a recap, you can find the event recording, transcript, shared files, notes, custom summary, agenda, and follow-up tasks.

- View the Attendance Report
- AI Meeting Summary Notes
- View the Meeting Transcript
- Follow Up Tasks noted during the meeting
- View the presentation
- See which speakers spoke, for how long, and at what timestamps
- Topics and Chapters divide an event into sections using keywords from the transcript, content shared with PowerPoint Live, and more.
From the Attendance Report you can track who joined the meeting, when they joined and left, how long they stayed. View engagement metrics including reactions, Q&A participation, and how often they came off mute or showed camera.

To View a Meeting Recap
You can access a Town Hall meeting Recap one of two ways:
- Open the Town Hall chat within Teams Chat and click Recap
- Open the Town Hall meeting within Teams Calendar, click Recap
Note: In recurring events, easily view recaps from any occurrence. Open the recap and select an occurrence from the dropdown menu. If you don't see the occurrence you're looking for, select Load more meetings.
