Body
Note: This article mainly pertains to students taking an exam on a PVCC lab computer, not their personal computer.
Nursing Lippincott exams use the "Lab OEM" version of Respondus Lockdown.

When taking an exam, students first sign in to their Lippincott portal. When they click on the exam, there are a few options that will be presented to them:
If the exam start time has not happened yet, they will see the option to Test Browser. They can click this button to make sure Respondus Lockdown Browser opens.

Once the start time of the exam has occurred, they will see the option to Continue to Exam. Clicking this button should start Respondus Lockdown Browser.

Anytime Respondus is opened from the Lippincott portal, this popup may appear towards the top of the screen. Click Open to launch the browser.

Once Respondus opens, there may be prompts to close any open applications. Click Close Application and Continue until all background apps are closed.

Respondus may show a message stating it is out of date. This is a known issue with Lippincott tech support. Click the Upgrade Later link to bypass this error.

The exam can now be started.

Troubleshooting
The only versions of Respondus Lockdown Browser that should be installed on PVCC computers are "Lab Edition" (for regular Canvas tests) and "Lab OEM" (for Nursing).

There is a third version, called just "Respondus Lockdown Browser OEM". This is the consumer version of Repsondus intended only for personal computers. If it is installed on a PVCC computer, it will "override" the other versions of Respondus, and Lippincott will attempt to use it. This version requires administrator permissions to open, which is why it is not recommended.
