If you work in a public space, share your screen during meetings, or teach classes, disabling the chat content preview enhances privacy and protects sensitive information. Below is an example of a typical chat notifications pop-up.
1. Access your Notifications and Activity settings
- Select Settings and more next to your profile picture at the top of Teams. This will appear as three dots.
- Select Settings.
- Go to Notifications and Activity.

2. Scroll down to Display.

Scroll down to Display and uncheck Show Message and content previews in notifications.

3. Message preview hidden.
