Benefits of Signing In
Depending on how a meeting was configured, Zoom may allow the participant to join as a guest without the need to be signed in. However, signing in to Zoom with a licensed Virginia Community College System (VCCS) account, which is provided to all faculty, staff and current students, will allow additional features and customization, such as:
- The ability to join privately-hosted Zoom meetings.
- Customizing display name, virtual background, and profile picture.
- The ability to record meetings.
- Scheduling and calendar sync functionality.
How to Sign In
As Zoom accounts are licensed through the VCCS, users must sign in using Single Sign On (SSO):
- Open the Zoom app and choose Sign In
- Choose Single Sign On (SSO)
- Enter VCCS for the Company Domain
- Zoom will be redirected to the VCCS portal. Enter MyPVCC / Canvas credentials to sign in to Zoom.
