Note: This article pertains to students taking a Lippincott exam on their personal, non PVCC device.
When taking an exam, students first sign in to their Lippincott portal. When they click on the exam, there are a few options that will be presented to them:
If the exam has been assigned to the student and the start time has not happened yet, they will see the option to Test Browser. They can click this button to make sure Respondus Lockdown Browser opens.

If nothing happens, Lockdown Browser is not installed. The student will have the option to install Lockdown Browser from this same pop-up window.

Students will be able to select the download link that is compatible with their operating system. Once the student has installed Lockdown Browser, they can run the test again.
Once the start time of the exam has occurred, they will see the option to Continue to Exam. Clicking this button should start Respondus Lockdown Browser.

Anytime Respondus is opened from the Lippincott portal, this pop-up may appear towards the top of the screen. Click Open to launch the browser.

Once Respondus opens, there may be prompts to close any open applications. Click Close Application and Continue until all background apps are closed.

Respondus may show a message stating it is out of date. This is a known issue with Lippincott tech support. Click the Upgrade Later link to bypass this error.

The exam can now be started.
