VWCC uses Zoom for video conferencing and Panopto for lecture capture.


Features & Benefits

Zoom:

Virginia Western uses Zoom for its primary video conferencing service.  All faculty, staff, and students have access to this technology and support provided by the Media Geeks.  As well as being the VWCC Zoom administrators, the Media Geeks assist with:

  • Zoom account setup and operation.
  • Individual or group training sessions based on skill level.
  • Equipment demonstrations and recommendations.

Panopto:

For over 10 years, Virginia Western Community College has used Panopto as its primary lecture capture platform.  Panopto is a quick, one-button presentation recording software that is available to all faculty and staff on- and off-campus.  Virginia Western leverages Panopto’s Canvas integration making posting lectures to courses or recording straight into a module quick and easy. 

The Media Geeks provide Panopto site administration as well as classroom design using the latest video and audio capture technologies.
