If you didn’t sign into your browser on your old system, follow the How To guides below to first export your bookmarks from your old Firefox browser, then on the new OS, follow the How To guide to import them into your browser of choice.

For the other method of getting your old bookmarks into your new Win 11 system:  Edge, Firefox, and Chrome are account-based, which means that whatever browser account you used on your old OS can be used again when using the same browser of choice in your new Win 11.  Just click the profile icon in the upper-right corner of your browser, select sign-in, then use the same account used in your previous OS.

 

HOW TO EXPORT BOOKMARKS_FIREFOX

  1. Open Firefox browser, select the hamburger menu option in the top right-hand corner of the browser, then select the “Bookmarks” option:Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  2.   In the next window select “Manage bookmarks”:Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. In the next window select the menu option to “Input and Backup” then in the drop-down window select “Export bookmarks to HTML…”:Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  4.   In the next window select the location and name of your bookmarks file:Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

Done.

IMPORTING BOOKMARKS_FIREFOX

  1.   Open your Firefox browser and select the hamburger icon in the top-right corner of your browser and click “Bookmarks”:Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  2. In the Bookmarks window select the option “Manage bookmarks”:Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  3.   In the next window click the menu option above to “Import and Backup” and select the drop-down option to “Import Bookmarks from HTML”:Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  4. In the next window locate and select your HTML bookmarks file, then hit “Open”:Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  5. Check to make sure your bookmarks successfully imported and you’re done.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
