Below are helpful links to help you make sure your courses are accessible in Canvas:

Accessibility Checker - The Rich Content Editor includes an accessibility tool that detects common accessibility errors within the editor. You can use the Accessibility Checker to design course content while considering accessibility attributes.

Alternative Text- Alt text is a requirement for digital content to make images accessible to people with visual impairments. A screen reader will read the alt text aloud so the user understands the image content.

Accessible Headings - Accessible headings structure digital content logically using semantic tags like <h1> through <h6>, not just visual styling. They should be used hierarchically, with a single <h1> for the main title, and without skipping levels (e.g., from <h2> to <h4>). Ensure headings are descriptive, concise, and unique within their hierarchy to help screen reader users navigate and understand the content's organization

Canvas Accessibility Standards - Ensuring an accessible and pleasant experience to all users, regardless of disability, is a key element of Canvas software

Closed Captions - They are critical for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have other disabilities, ensuring they can access spoken information, sound effects, and music.

Media File - you can upload a media file in Canvas Studio or use the Rich Text Editor. You can then play it through the media gallery or use the embedded controls.

Full- Screen Viewing - The most effective tool for an accessible by creating a full-page overlay that boosts readability by offering a range of customization options.

UDOIT Advantage - UDOIT Advantage is your built-in Canvas accessibility assistant from Cidi Labs. It reviews your course content and uploaded documents, highlights accessibility concerns, and offers clear suggestions and automated fixes. With expanded features over the original UDOIT tool, it helps make courses more inclusive with less manual effort.
