Direct Connection Method (Recommended)

Easiest Method: Should Work For Most Devices
In the Wi-Fi network settings of your device, select the Eduroam network.
If you are using a Windows or iOS / MacOS device:
- Enter MyMECC email e.g. username@email.vccs.edu for the network username
- Enter MyMECC password for the network password
If you are using an Android device:
- EAP Method: PEAP
- Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPv2.
- CA Certificate: Use System Certificates
- Domain: (Use one of the following below)
- Identity: MyMECC Email e.g. username@email.vccs.edu
- Clear the Anonymous identity text box so that it is empty
- Password: MyMECC password
Connect and accept the certificate if prompted.
For Chromebook Devices
- In the Chrome browser, go to https://cat.eduroam.org/ and click the Download button
- Search for and select Virginia Community College System
- Download the installer. It will have a .ONC file extension
- Open a new Chrome tab and type chrome://network/ into the address bar
- Under 'Import ONC File', choose the ONC file that was downloaded
- In the Chromebook Wi-Fi settings, select the Eduroam network
Enter:
- Identity: MyMECC email e.g. username@email.vccs.edu
- Password: MyMECC password
App-Based Method
Tip: If the above methods are not working to connect your device to Eduroam, follow the detailed VCCS guides below to use the Eduroam app.
Troubleshooting
- In the Wi-Fi settings of your device, 'Forget' the Eduroam network then try the setup again.
- Make sure you are using your correct MyMECC credentials, including your MyMECC email (username@email.vccs.edu) and password.
