How To Change Your MECC Email Password Remotely

Note* You must enroll in MECC’s employee self-service before you can change your password remotely.

1. From your web browser, visit https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/

OR

2. From your web browser, visit www.mecc.edu, hover your mouse over the “Faculty and Staff” menu item, and select “Employee Self Service”.

3. Enter your User ID/email address. Example: rdeel@mecc.edu. Note: If your username starts with “me” then you will need to use that username to log in. Example: medeer@mecc.edu. Enter the characters in the picture or the words from the audio message and click “Next”.

4. Choose the contact method used for verification. CCIT recommends “Answer my security questions”. These are the questions you configured when enrolling in the password self service portal.

5.  After you have been verified, you may now enter a new password, enter your new password twice and press “Finish”:

6. If you have successfully changed your password, you will see the prompt below:

7. You will also receive an email confirmation of your successful password change:

8.  A few things to keep in mind:

  • It may take time for your password to fully replicate throughout all of the applications you use on a daily basis. So be please be patient as your applications may continue to function without asking to update to the new password. Enter your new password into your applications when prompted to do so.
  • Note for laptop users: Changing your domain password remotely will not change the password on your laptop until that laptop is back on the campus network. You will continue using your old password to login to your laptop until you visit campus and your computer has time to sync with the network.
  • If after following the instructions above, you still have issues resetting your password, please submit a ticket.
