BR Account

BR Accounts are Network User Accounts on the BRCC Admin Domain. This account is granted by default to full-time Faculty and Staff, and are governed by the Acceptable Use Agreement.

BR accounts are used to provide a BRCC email address, authenticate to BRCC computers, access department shared drives, and to collaborate using Office 365. This service is required for essential college functions.

Administration

This Service is administered by BRCC Technology Services. Account creation is governed by HR employment actions and supervisor requests. Account Access changes may occur based on HR actions, supervisor requests, and VCCS Security Standards

Key functions

  • Authenticates with BRCC WiFi network
  • Authenticates with Office 365 online services
  • Provides @BRCC.edu email address
  • Provides access to BRCC shared drives
  • Provides access to BRCC Admin computers

Integration

This service is separate from the Academic (ACD) network, MyBRCC, and the VCCS ID. It will not function outside of the BRCC network.

Getting Started

When an employee is granted a BR Account, Technology Services gives the employee’s supervisor a physical welcome letter addressed to the employee. This letter explains the purpose of the account and contains an initial temporary password.

Availability

BR accounts are available 24/7. Access may be changed due to a Supervisor request or HR employment action.
