DMS: Adding Connection Profiles for the Perceptive Content Client

Purpose:  To allow users to configure the HPC Client connection profiles with the correct information to access Perceptive Content TEST and PROD.

Procedure

Users will require two connections profiles for the Perceptive Content client. One will provide them access to the TEST environment and the other to PRODUCTION environment.

Open Perceptive Content 7 client.

  1. Click on the Perceptive Content icon available, either from.
    1. navigate to Start Menu, then All Programs and expand Perceptive Content; or
    2. shortcut on your desktop; or
    3. in the notification area of the Taskbar
  2. Click on Connection Profiles.
  3. Click on Edit connection profiles
  4. Click on Create…
    1. To create the Production Connection Profile:
      1. Type in Name, examples: VCCS Production or Production
      2. Server ID: hpcprod.vccs.edu
      3. Select Server Type: Production
      4. Port Number: 6000
      5. User Name, Select Always prompt, then click OK.
    2. To create the Test Connection Profile:
      1. Type in Name, examples: VCCS Test or Test
      2. Server ID: hpctest.vccs.edu
      3. Select Server Type: Test
      4. Port Number: 6000
      5. User Name, Select Always prompt, then click OK.
  5. You will see new Connection Profile listed
  6. Under default preferences, use default profile-select the Production Profile you just created.
  7. To close the Connection Profiles screen, click OK to return to the login screen.

Connect to Perceptive Content.

  1. From login screen,
    1. Verify you are connecting to Production, from Connection Profiles, select your Production Profile name.
    2. Enter your username and password (This is your MyVCCS credentials).
    3. Click Connect.
  2. Once you successfully login, you will see the Perceptive Content Navigation bar.
    *Please note- the Navigation bar will be different based on your privileges.
