Follow these steps to connect your Android device to the Eduroam Wi-Fi network.
Step 1: Clear Any Previous Eduroam Connections
-
If you have tried connecting to Eduroam in the past, go to your phone’s Wi-Fi Settings, tap on Eduroam, and select Forget Network.
Step 2: Download the geteduroam App
-
Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
-
Search for and install the geteduroam app.

Note: Do not open the app yet. Downloading it first ensures your device can automatically process the configuration file in the next steps.
Step 3: Download Your Configuration Profile
-
Open your mobile web browser and go to cat.eduroam.org.
-
Tap the blue button to download the Eduroam installer.

-
Search for and select Virginia Community College System from the list of institutions.

-
The site will automatically detect your Android device. Tap the download button to save the installer profile to your phone.

Step 4: Install & Log In
-
Once the profile finishes downloading, tap Open (or open your device's Files / Downloads folder and tap the downloaded profile file).

-
The geteduroam app will automatically launch and prompt you to log in.
-
Enter your MyVCCS credentials (username and password) and sign in.

-
When prompted, tap Save or Allow to store the network settings.

You are all set! Your device will now automatically connect whenever you are in range of an Eduroam network.
