Navigate - Faculty and Staff Access

This article outlines how faculty and staff can access Navigate based on their assigned job responsibilities.

Key Points:
Faculty and Staff may gain access to the Navigate Staff app based on their specific job functions at Reynolds (e.g., tutor, advisor, administrator, etc.).
Once access is granted, faculty and staff will be assigned one or more roles that will give them access to certain functions in Navigate Staff. They can be granted additional roles for elevated access if the reason is justified
Faculty and staff are deactivated in Navigate Staff once they are no longer employed at Reynolds due to retirement or separation.
Instructions:
Faculty and staff should confirm with their designated supervisor/dean that they need access to Navigate Staff.
Once the need is justified, the supervisor/dean should submit a
Computer Access Request form
requesting access to Navigate Staff for their employee, or can submit a
general Help Desk trouble ticket
.
The Navigate administrator will verify that an account has been created for the faculty or staff member and assign the appropriate roles.
The faculty or staff member will then be able to login to their
MyReynolds account
and access the
Navigate Staff
app in their dashboard. If the person is accessing their account for the first time, they will be required to activated it (an email will be sent to them with the activation instructions).
Note:
The Navigate Staff app can be confused with the
Navigate Student app
but note that the former has a blue background whereas the other one has a silver background.
The Navigate Staff dashboard should then appear with functions that they are allowed to do (e.g., manage student appointment requests, synchronizing meeting events in their Outlook calendar, etc.).
