Key Points:
- Outlook is available for Android devices through the Google Play Store and for iOS devices (iPad and iPhone) through the Apple App Store.
- You may be required to update your phone to the latest operating system version in order to access the Outlook app. This is especially true for iOS devices as older units may be restricted from downloading and installing any software that requires a newer operating system unless a compatible version of the app exists (developers may not have a compatible version available).
- A possible workaround may be to setup your Outlook account through the stock mail app that came pre-loaded on your device when you purchased it.
Instructions for Android users:
- On your Android device, go to the Google Play Store.
- Search for and install the (Microsoft) Outlook app.
- Once it is installed, tap Open to launch it.
- Tap Add Account.
- Enter your Reynolds email address, then tap Continue.
- Select Exchange for the account type.
- Tap the slider at the bottom of the screen for Advanced Settings to enable it.
- Enter your Reynolds email address password.
- Enter outlook.office365.com for the server information.
- Enter NTPD01\your SR username for the domain\username information. If you don't know this information, contact the Reynolds Help Desk for assistance.
- Enter your current account password. Again, if you don't know this information, contact the Reynolds Help Desk for assistance.
- Optionally, you can enter a description for the account such as My Work Email.
- Tap the checkmark at the top of the screen to confirm your settings.
- You may be required to authenticate with a code to continue to setup process. If your previous settings were entered correctly, you will be taken to a menu with additional settings. You should see the email account you just added along with different mail options you can configure such as notifications and signature.
- Tap the left arrow at the top of the screen to leave the settings menu.
- Tap the three stacked lines at the top of the screen (if necessary) to switch to your Inbox. You should now start to see all your messages being downloaded from the mail server.
Instructions for iOS users:
- On your iOS device, go to the (Apple) App Store.
- Search for and install the (Microsoft) Outlook app.
- Once it is installed, tap Open to launch it.
- Tap Add Account.
- Tap Add.
- Enter your Reynolds email address, then tap Add Account.
- You may be required to authenticate with a code to continue to setup process.
- If prompted, enter your current account password. If you don't know this information, contact the Reynolds Help Desk for assistance.
- If your settings were entered correctly, you will be taken directly to your Inbox where messages should start downloading from the mail server.
- You can tap your account picture at the top of the screen, then select the gear icon at the bottom left of the screen to access the additional settings menu that will give you different mail options you can configure such as notifications and signature. Tap the X at the top left of the screen to leave the additional settings menu and switch back to your Inbox.
Instructions for users that have older mobile devices (can be an Android or iOS device):
- If your older mobile device does not allow you to download and install the (Microsoft) Outlook app through the app store, you can potentially still configure it to connect to your Reynolds email account using the stock mail app that was pre-loaded when your purchased it.
- Tap on it to launch it. (Note that the name of the app is dependent on the device you have -- it may say Mail or go by a different name).
- Tap Add Account.
- Tap Microsoft Exchange.
- Enter your Reynolds email address. Optionally, you can enter a description for the account such as My Work Email (if you enter nothing, the description with default to Exchange).
- Tap Next.
- If you are prompted with the option to Configure Manually or Sign In, tap the Sign In option.
- You may then be redirected to the Microsoft login screen. Enter your enter your current account password, then tap Sign In. If you don't know this information, contact the Reynolds Help Desk for assistance.
- When prompted, enter the appropriate authentication code, then click Verify.
- If your settings were entered correctly, you should see checkmarks to verify that your account information is good.
- You may then see an additional options screen where you can choose to show or hide mail items such as your mailbox, contacts, etc. Tap the slider for the options to be shown or hidden, then tap Save.
- Your account will finish being added into the mail app.
- You will be taken directly to your Inbox where messages should start downloading from the mail server.
