This article provides an overview about the survey and electronic form tools available to Reynolds employees. College faculty and staff may need to collect data in such tools for a variety of reasons, including:

  1. To gather feedback from students during course instruction;
  2. To assess satisfaction / outcomes of a particular program or service;
  3. To allow individual(s) to request access to a system, facility, event, or resource;
  4. To collect information required during as part of a process;
  5. To get information or feedback about a new initiative or academic program; and / or
  6. To gather information for academic research.

Reynolds has four tools which can support such efforts including: (1) Google Forms, (2) FormAssembly, (3) Qualtrics Base XM, and (4) Canvas Surveys. 

Google Forms is a survey administration software included as part of the free, web-based Google Docs Editors suite offered by Google. Google forms is used when (1) you do not need to restrict the survey or form to a specific group of individuals which you are unable to identify on your own and (2) you do not need proof of approval from people outside your department.
