Guest Account Login Instructions

This knowledge base article outlines the steps that are done to allow visitors (those not affiliated with any Virginia Community College as a student or an employee) the ability to login on our computer systems.

Key Points: Reynolds Community College provide individual guest accounts for public users to access our library computers.  Public users include, but are not limited to: library visitors, third-party vendors, and any one else that is not a student/employee affiliated with a Virginia community college.


Instructions:

  • A guest account spreadsheet will be checked to ensure that an account is available for a person to use at any campus (Parham Road, Downtown, Goochland, and The Kitchens).  There will a maximum of 50 guest accounts for each campus.
     
  • The spreadsheet will be updated with the visitor's name, time of arrival at the campus, computer assigned, and name of the employee issuing the guest account.  The spreadsheet is re-created everyday so guest accounts will never be used more than once.
     
  • The visitor will be assigned a one-time username and password.  The same username and password will never be assigned to more than one visitor.
     
  • After the visitor leaves, the spreadsheet will be updated with their time of departure.
