Key Points:
- Occasionally, Cisco Jabber may display a certificate error when the program is being used.
- The error may cause Cisco Jabber to fail to communicate with the authentication server.
- The error is caused by the program not being able to trust the certificate in order to deem it safe.
Instructions:
When launching Cisco Jabber, users may receive the following error messge: "The server is presenting a certificate for [name of site] that Cisco Jabber cannot accept." To resolve the issue, the user needs to do the following.
- On the certificate error message, click Show Certificate > Issuer Statement to verify that the server name on the error message matches the name that the certificate was issued to.
- Also verify on the Verify Certificate dialog box that both the Valid From and To dates have not already passed.
- The Valid From date tells when the certificate was issued. It is standard for the Valid From date to be in the past.
- The To date tells when the certificate expires. This date should be a date in the future to signal that the certificate is valid.

- Restart your computer.
- Launch Cisco Jabber again and verify that the error message is no longer present.
