Laurel Ridge HR Update: State and System Policy Revisions
The Department of Human Resources Management (DHRM) and the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) have policy revisions for employees.
DHRM, the state's human resource office, has made changes to the following policies for classified staff:
The VCCS State Board has approved changes to the following policies for faculty:

Faculty Evaluation Policy (3.6)

Faculty Credentialing (3.2 and 3.2a) supporting colleges’ use of alternate credentialing

Faculty Sanctions (3.12) by renaming to Performance Improvement and Corrective Actions and updating the policy

Faculty Appointment (3.4)

Lateral Entry Policy (3.08)

Codify in policy the Hybrid Credit-Non-Credit Faculty proposal
Next Steps:
The college is reviewing these policies in relation to our own college policies, procedures, and practices. Any formal changes to the college policies will be addressed through the college governance council.
The college is currently awaiting additional guidance and training resources from the state and system to support consistent implementation of these policies across the Commonwealth.
Please note that the college does not have the authority to modify state or system-level policies.
