All faculty who meet minimum qualifications are welcome to apply for promotion in rank to include full-time teaching faculty, adjunct teaching faculty, administrative faculty, and professional faculty.
Faculty wishing to apply for a promotion in rank, please complete the Memorandum Of Request for Promotion with official transcripts earned while in current rank (new credits/degrees not on file with HR) and submit it to your dean/direct supervisor by Friday, February 28, 2025, 11.59 p.m. If you're unsure whether you qualify for a promotion in rank, please contact your dean, supervisor, or Human Resources well in advance of the submission deadline to ensure you have enough time to submit the necessary documents.
The promotion request procedures have the following due dates this year:

PROMOTION PROCESS DUE DATES

Associate VP Human Resources sends an email to all faculty to invite participation in the promotion request process.
|
By February 1
|
|
Faculty submits request to their immediate supervisor (i.e., associate dean, dean, director, associate vice president, vice president).

February 28
|
|
Academic promotions:
Deans submit recommendations to the vice president for review. Associate Deans, please submit a completed VCCS 10 for adjunct faculty being recommended for promotion.
Administrative and professional faculty promotions:
Directors submit recommendations to their next-level supervisor (i.e., associate vice president or vice president).

March 20

Promotion requests submitted to Human Resources for verification of eligibility.

April 1
|
|
Human Resources completes the review of all promotion requests (with assistance from the associate dean, dean, director, or executive officer as needed).

April 10

|
Human Resources sends confirmation letters for eligible promotions to the President for signature
|
By May 1
|
|
The President approves promotion increases – Human Resources prepares confirmation letters for the President’s signature
|
After the Faculty Salary Plan is approved by the System
|
