I'm sick or my child is sick. Can I telework?

As you may know, our current telework policy (DHRM Policy 1.61) allows for a certain number of telework days per week for positions designated as conducive to telework. However, we understand that unexpected situations, such as illness, may arise. In these instances, we strive to be as flexible as possible while still adhering to our policy guidelines. Please inform your supervisor as soon as you are aware that you need to telework due to illness. They will review your request and determine if it can be accommodated within the context of our current telework schedule and business needs.

Your health and wellbeing and that of your family is important to us. While the flexibility of telework can be beneficial, it is also important to recognize when it might be best to take a day off to rest and recover fully. Taking time off to address your health needs can help you return to work with renewed energy and focus. Please feel free to use your sick leave if needed. If you decide to telework, ensure that you are able to perform your duties without compromising your recovery.

Please speak with your HR consultant if you have questions, or contact HRteam@laurelridge.edu.
