Network Drive: PSData Share Access Issues

This article provides some steps that typically take care of most issues accessing the psdata.vccs.edu shares.

Before Getting Started

You need to know the following things:

  • Your MyVCCS/EAD credentials
  • The full path to the psdata share you are trying to connect to.

Assumption

If you are experiencing errors, examples below, accessing the psdata share, follow the steps to try and re-establish the connection.

Steps

  1. Open a command prompt.
  2. To check for remembered connections type: net use
  3. Delete any remembered connections to the psdata.vccs.edu server, for example: net use /delete \\psdata.vccs.edu\ps8data_so261
  4. In Windows, go to Control Panel > Credential Manager > Windows Credentials and remove any saved credentials for psdata.vccs.edu
  5. Reboot the device.
  6. Re-map the shares.
    1. Make sure that the Reconnect at sign-in and Connect using different credentials boxes are checked.
    2. Enter the username as DIRECTORY\<MyVCCS user ID>, for example: DIRECTORY\abc123
