HCM: Manager is unable to view employees for approval

ISSUE: We have been made aware of instances where some manager’s direct reports are not populating within the tiles under the HCM Manager Home Page. This has resulted in some full‐time employees’ Leave Workflow Status returning as E (Error). This issue also restricts managers from approving the employee’s Payable Time and Absence Requests.

ISSUE: We have been made aware of instances where some manager’s direct reports are not populating within the tiles under the HCM Manager Home Page. This has resulted in some full‐time employees’ Leave Workflow Status returning as E (Error). This issue also restricts managers from approving the employee’s Payable Time and Absence Requests.  

TROUBLESHOOT: Working with the Systems Office, we have identified a solution and implemented a process that ran last evening. Going forward, this process run will correct the issue but please note, this process run did NOT correct any employee’s record that previously had an Error under the Leave Workflow Status. Employee leave submission can be researched by running the VX_AM_EVENTS query to identify anyone with a workflow status of E (Error). If you note the status is Error, please take the following steps to ensure the leave is approved and processed accurately.  

SOLUTION:   The agency Time Administrator will need to follow the steps below to move the Workflow Status in HCM from Error to Approved: 

  • Navigate to Navigator > Global Payroll & Absence Mgmt > Payee Data > Maintain Absences > Absence Event
  • Click on the Details Link  
  • Place a checkmark in the Manager Approved box
  • Click OK  
  • Click SAVE
